ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026: Super 8 Stage All Set to Begin
The group stage of the ICC Men’s T20 world cup 2026 ends on 20th February and the Super 8 phase is all set to start from 21st February. Competition has been intense, involving 20 teams divided into 4 groups but only the two top teams of each group secured their places in the next round.
The Super 8 is going to be held from 21 st February to 1st March with the eight qualified teams divided into two groups of four.

West Indies was the first to qualify, defeating Nepal by nine wickets. The defending champions India guaranteed their position by defeating Pakistan by 61 runs. Zimbabwe made one of the most interesting stories as they topped Group B by upsetting Australia.
Notably, every Super 8 team is assured direct entry into the 2028 T20 world cup.
Super 8 Format Explained
Eight teams were pre-seeded in two Super 8 groups based on the ranking in T20Is by the ICC. In case one of the seeded teams did not make it to the qualification phase, their slot taken by the team that has proceeded in their place.
The fact that Zimbabwe progressed instead of Australia means that they occupy Australia's slot in Group 1.
